Chartis Fraud SafeGuard
Homes today are being built with more mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment than ever before. Technology advances and high-end homeowner expectations of comfort and convenience contribute to the trend of technologically sophisticated residences.
Equipment Breakdown is a homeowners policy enhancement and covers tghe repair or replacement of critical home equipment due to breakdown.
Coverage Highlights
- Limits Available
- $50,000 with $10,000 for additional living expenses
- $100,000 with $20,000 for additional living expenses
- $150,000 with $20,000 for additional living expenses
- $200,000 with $20,000 for additional living expenses
- $250,000 with $20,000 for additional living expenses
- Deductible options from $500 to $5,000 available
- Applies to equipment that is integral to the house or permanent other structures.
- Labor charges are included
- Additional living expenses -- covers the expenses incurred when the home is uninhabitable due to a covered loss
- Additional costs to replace -- covers up to 125% of replacement value for equipment that is better for the environment, safer, or more efficient than the equipment being replaced.
Covered Equipment - that generates, transmits, or utilizes energy or operates under vacuum or pressure. Such as:
- Central air conditioning systems; including compressors, condensers
- Heating equipment
- Heat pumps and air handler units
- Ventilating systems
- Fired hot water systems
- Emergency generators
- Well pumps
- Filtration systems for air and water
- Central vacuum systems
- Swimming pool filtration, pumps and heating equipment
- Chair lifts and elevators

Chartis Fraud SafeGuard provides protection for loss of money, securities, and personal property, whether the crime is perpetrated by caretakers, financial advisors, domestic employees, or fraudulent marketers.
Coverage Highlights
Limits Available from $5,000 to $100,000, in increments of $5,000 for Fraud, Embezzlement & Forgery and Stolen Identity Events:
- Stolen Identity Event -- our dedicated professionals take all the necessary action to restore an insured's identity, saving time and money. Losses due to this type of event are not subject to a deductible.
- Fraud, Embezzlement & Forgery -- protects an insured from personal financial losses committed by individuals with a fiduciary responsibility, such as those with access to checkbooks, credit cards, 401(k), savings accounts, stocks and bonds. Losses due to this type of event are subject to a deductible.
- ATM Robbery -- protects up to $2,500 for theft resulting from a robbery occurring at an ATM. Losses due to this type of event are not subject to a deductible.
Covered Losses
- Unauthorized checking and saving account withdrawals -- accounts may be compromised if a checkbook, debit card, or personal identification numbers (PINs) are stolen
- Unauthorized credit card transactions, including internet purchases
- Theft of financial assets -- 401(k) savings, stocks, bonds, and safety deposit box contents
- Donations to false charities
- Loss due to a telemarketing scheme
- Coverage for fakes, frauds, and forgeries
Chartis Household SafeGuard
Chartis Household SafeGuard goes beyond property protection; it responds to physical and mental recovery following a traumatic covered loss.
Coverage Highlights - Covers up to $250,000 for expenses incurred from one insured event (with sub0limits as outlined below)
- Fees and expenses - up to $100,000 for security consultants, forensic analysts, interpreters, or negotiators
- Medical expenses - up to $50,000 for each covered person, up to a maximum of $100,000 for each insured event
- Rest and rehabilitation expenses - up to $25,000; as prescribed by a psychiatrist, physician or other authorized mental health professional
- Increased costs of security - up to $25,000 including, but not limited to, the hiring of additional security guards, armored vehicles and overtime paid to existing security staff.
- Improving security -- up to $5,000 to prevent a future event at your residence, in you motor vehicle or watercraft
- Travel, accommodation, and meals -- up to $25,000 while attempting to resolve an event
- Death and Dismemberment -- up to $250,000 to the injured party for injury arising from an insured event
- Home alteration and vehicle modification -- up to $25,000 if you, your spouse or family member suffers a dismemberment or paralysis
Covered Losses - Traumatic insured loss events such as:
- Kidnaping
- Abduction of a child
- Home invasion
- Violent threat
- Stalking
- Car jacking
